What is the inflammation at your ankle?

It's fluid on the ankle, I'm hoping they can drain it or inject something in it. Unfortunately my dermatologist can't do it and I have to see rheumatology, but we don't get on too well.

Great news you're given the all clear for another six months and hope the rheumatologist can do something for your ankle, without trying to turn you to methotrexate (which is what my rheumatologist wanted  me on before I dumped her )

If they don't remove your nipple you could have it pierced and put a ring through it  I'm told it's quite fashionable these days

It's fluid on the ankle, I'm hoping they can drain it or inject something in it. Unfortunately my dermatologist can't do it and I have to see rheumatology, but we don't get on too well.

That is classic for Rheumies, trying to put you on methotrexate.

If they don't remove your nipple you could have it pierced and put a ring through it  I'm told it's quite fashionable these days 

 Eh…. I must warn you … it may hurt !  I have an earring, which also hurted, but I never have had the feeling to have that same into my nipples.

Good news, except for the ankle. And like KatT asked, can you see another rheumatologist since you don't care for the previous one?

There is no way I will be taking Methotrexate no matter what she says, if she can't remove the fluid or inject something in it then I will just have to put up with it.

As for seeing another rheumatologist, I could but I would have to go to a different hospital a lot further away and my dermatologists thoughts are that they would be the same.

No I won't be having it pierced though it could be a good conversation piece. "Do you want to see my pierced nipple"

Don't know how long it will take for the rheumatology appointment, but I will go and be polite and let her do the talking. She did once remove fluid from my knee and inject some stuff which worked very well, and my dermatologist has made a note to her saying I'm only interested in getting the ankle treated as I'm pleased with the psoriatic arthritis.

Wee will see.

The injection is probably a corticosteroid.
I have had one in my finger too, long time ago.

My doctor, well not my doctor but the doctor that I know personally, he is retired now and he was an internist who treated a lot of psorisispatients, states that the fluid that they take out will contain easy to see crystals of pyrovate. You only need a microscope for it.
The pyrovate is the easy signal that you have Psoriatic Arthritis.

Good news Fred - minus the ankle obviously, hope you can get that sorted soon.....

I had a nipple on my elbow a few years ago - got it removed and turns out it was a cyst.
