Hi All
Update of Pyzchiva.
Attended Derm yesterday and seen my consultant who I have not seen
for almost 8 years. She had requested to see me as I had asked for a
prescription for Pigmanorm for Hyperpigmentation. She wanted to know
how often I used this for my face as it could turn the skin blue if used too
much. (There is a name for this, but I can't remember
.
Was good to see her again and I explained that I purchase this on private
prescription and barely use it, the reason being once my skin starts to peel
off (taking the make up with it !) I stop using it and go back and fourth when
the pigment annoys me. So no need to check for the blue skin. She has
prescribed me 20% Azelatic Acid (which they are now able to prescribe),
which I can alternate with.
I did mention to her that I had been having pain in shoulder and knee, I have
been keeping note of this and it did get better around 3 weeks after having
my injection. If it is the case, I have PSA and the Stelara has been keeping this
at bay I think that the Pyzchiva is not. I haven't had any major problems with
joints apart from getting old.
Her response was to tell me that they are noting everything they are told as the
Pyzchiva is new to them. I asked if anyone else having issues and she said she
has patients that are new to biologics put on this and are not doing very well.
The fact that I have two joints affected and a couple of other things going on,
she has referred me to rheumatology but there is a very long waiting list. I will
keep note of any ups and downs , dates etc to see if a pattern emerges. I did
ask if I can revert to Stelera if need be and she said yes. She did mention I had
been on Ustekinumab for 10 years, but I would rather go back to Stelera than
try a new biologic.
On the plus side the Pyzchiva is keeping the skin clear and I did not have any
headache after last dose.
Hope you are all well,
Angie
