Bimzelx for psoriatic arthritis Fred's journey

Update: It was time for my maintenance shots today, but I'm trying something different this time. Instead of taking both shots of 160mg for 8 weeks I have taken one and will take the other one at week four. I did contact my dermatologist to see what she thought but as she is now head of department I don't think she has the time, so I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes.

The reason I'm trying one shot every 4 weeks is because I've noticed a little tail off around week 6 for the psoriatic arthritis and I have read that Bimzelx do now recommend 160mg every 4 weeks for psoriatic arthritis, but still 2 shots every 8 weeks if the patient has moderate to severe psoriasis, I have zero psoriasis now so it's got to be worth a go.

Psoriasis score: 0

Psoriatic arthritis score: 3

No side effects.

Sensible move I think.

Yes and I can always switch back if it doesn't work. 

Sounds like a plan, it makes sense to have more continuous coverage, in theory.

Yes I would have preferred to get the go ahead with my dermatologist, but I know she is very busy and she knows I know how far to go .................... she once said she would like me sitting beside her at psoriasis consultations.

I think having you sitting alongside your doctor's consultations would be a true benefit to her patients.  You'd be like an expert-witness-patient. 


This spacing of your Bimzelx may feel the same for a month or so if your body keeps stores of it.  Fingers crossed for you.  You're thinking smart.

Update: It's working, I took the other shot yesterday and I'm very pleased with the results..

So I'm going to stick to one shot of 160mg every 4 weeks instead of two every 8 weeks for the rest of this year and see how it goes.

I have done that all the time. Kinda self prescribing.

Yes I will be telling my dermatologist next May what I have done, but for now I'm enjoying it.
